About Sorin Mircea
I'm Sorin Mircea, a software engineer based in Switzerland. I build products end to end, whatever the stack, and I'm looking to join an early-stage startup as a technical co-founder.
Background
Most recently I was a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Apple in Zurich (2024 to 2025), working on Siri's training pipelines, where I cut training time by 2.5× with a last-mile data processing initiative on Ray. Before that I was a Software Engineer at Google in Zurich (2021 to 2024): iOS developer on Gmail and Calendar, shipping a feature to 400 million iOS users, then full stack on YouTube Live Shopping. Earlier I interned at Apple in Cupertino and Zurich, at Google and at Bloomberg.
What I build
iOS and watchOS apps in SwiftUI, web apps in TypeScript with React and Next.js, backends in Node.js and PostgreSQL, machine learning pipelines in PyTorch and Ray, and the infrastructure underneath on Docker and Kubernetes, usually self-hosted.
Products I've shipped on my own, all listed under products:
- FitCrumbs, an iOS and Apple Watch app for planning and following running routes.
- Fit Stickers, an iOS app that turns workouts into stickers for Instagram stories.
- Forms for Obsidian, a plugin and web app for publishing forms from an Obsidian vault.
- SpiderTab, a featured Chrome extension with a custom new tab page.
- IronCoders, a competitive programming platform with an automated judge.
What I'm looking for
A co-founder with a problem worth solving and a market they understand. I bring the 0 to 1 technical side: from the first prototype to an app in the store, the backend behind it and the infrastructure that keeps it running.
